Everybody loves Salsa! It’s fun, easy to make and oh so tasty. It’s also fun and easy to grow your own and tastes even better with fresh ingredients from your garden. Whether you like your salsa red or green or fresh or cooked, Bloomin’ Things has the plants you need to make homegrown salsa.
It’s not too late to plant – or replant – tomatoes, tomatillos and peppers. We have more than 10 varieties of tomatoes, 17 types of peppers from mild to hot and both green and purple tomatillos to give you the freedom to choose how you like it.
You can make a colorful salsa by blending a red Roma like our Plum Royal, a yellow Sunrise Sauce, and a green Pancho tomatillo. And with peppers that range from the mild NuMex Big Jim to the Carolina Reaper –the second hottest pepper in the world – you can go from mild to wild. In addition to fresh salsas, you can also make canned salsas, hot sauces, tomato pastes and so much more. I have some great salsa recipes I’ll be sharing with you later this summer.
Our inventory of these fantastic plants is running low and the planting season is running short so we’re having a Salsa Party sale this week. For every tomato, tomatillo or pepper plant you buy, you’ll get one free. This includes every variety of tomato and pepper we grow. The plants are healthy and happy and ready to start fruiting for you.
You can get yours this week at the Mill Town Farmer’s Market in Canton on Thursday, May 28 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Or you can use the product list and submit it to us. We’re in Waynesville so you can either pick them up or we’ll drop them off for free if you’re within the city limits.
